Genre classification ranges from pop-punk to emo, you be the judge. There really isn’t an exact style, or at least that’s what the band will tell you. All members grew up in Wilbraham MA, met in high school and formed a band in the spring of 2000.Musical taste at that point varied a lot between band members, and helped create an eclectic style drawing from each members influence. Joe and Matt will tell you Saves The Day couldn’t have been a greater influence. Nick and Ali incorporate their punk rock taste into Sonny’s set list. They try to play whatever comes natural, and chose not to limit their sound. Their first release was an eight song EP on Dirty Work and Cheapskate records. It was from this release they attracted attention from Fastmusic, with whom they signed with. The first of which will be released late summer / early fall of 2002 under the title, “A Temporary Remedy.� The full length shows progression from the first CD. For the first time they sat down and wrote their CD in advance, rather than writing it the night before studio time. All members have issues with procrastination.
Matt and Nick are still in high school, and Joe and Ali have recently graduated. A relatively young band, they will be sure to make it to your cd player someday.
